Just complete our online form and email it back to us giving us permission to access your herd data or pop the form in the post in a pre-paid envelope which we will provide.

 

RUN THE PEDIGREES THROUGH MMS

 

A specialist, independent Cattle Breeding Consultant with over 40 years’ experience in the Dairy industry, will now access your herd data and run the bulls you have selected, plus any other bulls you already have in your flask through the pedigree mating programme.

Every registered bull in the UK is accessible through the programme.

A calculated genotypic linear value will then be produced for each animal in your herd based on 60% of the cow’s paternal line and 40% of its maternal line.

The bulls you have chosen based on your criteria and those in your flask will then be mated across your herd, eliminating in-breeding and genetic recessives.

Research indicates that the results of a pedigree mating programme show a high degree of accuracy compared to the traditional linear scoring.

 

CHOOSE YOUR BULLS FROM THE MMS LIST

 

Within a week of running the programme you will receive your MMS list of bulls matched to each individual animal, showing first and second choice matches in an easy to read format.

We will send you by post the bull pdfs from our stud for additional information. All you need to do now is select your bulls and we’ll get them on to farm ready for service.

If you calve all year round, we recommend we run your herd through MMS 3 times per year, 2-3 months before calving.

If you prefer a traditional on-farm scoring service, we will need to make an additional small charge.
