The team at Mastergen recently visited Germany for a progeny tour and attended the biggest show in Germany – The Schau de Besten!
BEART
Having viewed 4 of his daughters on a large 800 cow unit and 6 daughters at the Schau Der Besten this unique top Type proven sire is producing daughters suitable for a variety of management systems. His sire stack of Beacon x Goldwyn x Oman is extremely well balanced and the maternal line of the Daisy’s proves that Beart is as solid as they come! He is a half-brother to the Former No.1 German Sire Bakombre and his Dam is full sister to popular proven sire Regan ALH Derren, Danillo and Goldday. With 7 Gens of VG/EX Dams (6 EX) Beart has one of the most reliable pedigrees any proven sire could have.
The first breeder we visited had 12 Beart daughters in milk and complimented his Beart daughters for their excellent fertility alongside their high production records with all of his Beart daughters averaging well above 36/37kgs as heifers calving in at just 23-25 months of age. The Beart daughters we viewed had outstanding feet and legs, superb heel depth to the foot, flat boned through the hocks and a straighter than average set to the leg. They all tracked well making Beart a suitable sire to use among grazing systems. He also stamps his udders exceptionally with strong central ligaments and tight, clean attachments, wide and high in the rear udders with near-perfect teat placement, showing great promise for customers on robotic systems.
All the daughters we viewed had a little more strength than his proof indicates with a little more width through the front end, plenty of depth through the fore-rib and seem to maintain plenty of body condition despite giving high yields. There is no-doubt that Beart will continue to be a heavily used sire in Germany and across the Globe due to his daughter uniformity and flexibility to cope in a vast variety of managements systems.

POPPE SNOW RDC
Poppe Snow is a unique red carrier Snowman son from the popular European cow family of the Pietje’s. Snow was used early on as a Sire of Sons across the Globe including here in the UK. With several sons coming through and his early daughters are taking the eye of the sire analysts there is no doubt that Snow is following if not exceeding his genomic predictions.
Having viewed another great daughter group of Poppe Snow and a few individuals on a couple of farms, it is clear that Snow is producing ideal cows for automated milking systems. He transmits excellent mammary systems, with tidy, snug udders and excellent teat length. His daughters are taller than average but have excellent mobility with their typically steeper/straighter feet and legs. These robust cows are built to last and mature better with age, Snow is a calving ease sire and should be considered if you are after trouble-free high yielding cows!
FANATIC
This unique Freddie son combines the consistent cow family of the Cosmopolitans and has a sire stack bursting with Global giants! His Dam is a VG86 Planet daughter who had already produced over 13,000kgs of milk in her first lactation with 4.16% Fat and 3.30% Protein she is closely followed by Larcrest Crimson EX93, a popular Ramos daughter who has produced plenty of sought-after offspring across the Globe and high ranking sons.
Having seen a very consistent group of 6 Fanatic daughters it is extremely clear what he is transmitting. His daughters are identical to his proof, smaller, stronger cows with plenty of strength throughout. The rumps, wide and square with an ideal slope from hook to pin and silky udders welded on with model teat placement and teat length. Fanatic daughters are the perfect robust, hardy, cubicle cows which will be low maintenance within any herd.

LORD P RED
Lord P Red is a very exciting Red Polled sire who has been a popular choice since his release. His paternal line is filled with elite sires of sons such as Tiger-Lily Ladd P Red followed by a VG87 Shottle, giving breeders great confidence in using an exciting polled sire like Lord P.
Having seen four generations of Lord P’s cow family still working on one farm, it is clear that he will be a sire who will produce long-lasting cows every breeder strives for. His Dam oozes power throughout and clearly is no passenger giving over 11,000kgs in her first lactation! 2nd Dam to Lord P is currently milking in her 7th lactation and is classified EX90, this tremendous Rubens daughter continues to be in milking form and is a hard topped capacious cow with a superb udder for a 7th calver!
Her Dam (3rd Dam to Lord P Red) is still alive, now dry from her 9th lactation and is also classified EX90, she clearly emphasizes the longevity this family is breeding! Lord P also has a full sister which is just fresh and appears to be a very promising young cow who looks to be an easy VG two year old.
She is a well-balanced, compact cow, with a promising tidy udder coming through. Overall the cow family of Lord P Red should not be overlooked, his impressive line-up of Dams is unusual to see in the likes of in-demand genomic bulls like Lord P Red.

DAUGHTER GROUPS
CHAMPION – Beart Daughter – Evelin – calved at exactly 25 months of age currently giving 33 litres of milk at 4.04% Fat and 3.21% Protein in her first 100 days in milk.
RESERVE – Poppe Snow daughter – Fancy – calved at exactly 24 months of age averaging 31 litres of milk at 4.16% Fat and 3.31% Protein in her first 100 days in milk.
SUPREME CHAMPION OF SHOW
Lady Gaga (Modest Daughter) 10 Yr Old, this is the 2nd year running she has taken the “Miss Schau Der Besten” title!
SALE HIGHLIGHTS
One of the top prices at 19,000 Euros was a young Livermore daughter, Livermore himself is a very exciting Liquid Gold son from the heart of the Kevrel Shottle May EX94 cow family.
The top seller went to Sunbird, sired by Apoll P and fetched 35,000 euros!
